Drop Test on iPhone 15 Pro vs iPhone 14 Pro: The iPhone 15 Pro easily breaks the screen and pops the camera cluster

Flying to Australia, AppleTrack's Sam Kohl brings us the first iPhone 15 Pro drop tests available on YouTube. Based on his video, it appears that the new rounded Titan edges are no better in terms of durability in drop testing than the more durable square design of the iPhone 14 Pro.

While the iPhone 14 Pro's flat beveled edges absorb most of the impact force, the iPhone 15 Pro's rounded Titanium edges seem to spread the impact force to the front and back glass, causing spider web cracks.

Comparing the edges of the Titanium and stainless steel bezels directly, the iPhone 14 Pro's stainless steel frame seems to show dents and scratches faster. But structural integrity keeps the iPhone 14 Pro working properly.

In the drop test, while the iPhone 14 Pro remained in near-perfect condition until the very end, the iPhone 15 Pro's glass began to break about halfway through with spider web cracks appearing at the top corners. fairy.

Successive drops have caused increasing levels of damage to the iPhone 15 Pro's glass on the back and front. Ultimately, the bottom half of the iPhone 15 Pro screen was completely broken and even the rear camera cluster was completely separated from the chassis.

While the iPhone 15 Pro may not be as crack-resistant as the iPhone 14 Pro, it still performs well. It takes multiple drops to concrete for the glass to crack, and the Ceramic Shield-equipped front glass means it takes longer for the display glass to visibly break.

Apple said discoloration of the Titan border on the iPhone 15 Pro is "normal", just wipe it off

In a support document updated yesterday, Apple points out that fingerprints can “temporarily change the color” of the Titan frame on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Luckily, Apple says this is not a permanent condition as fingerprints can be removed just like on any other iPhone to restore a clean appearance.

“For iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, oils from your skin may temporarily change the color of the outer band,” Apple said. "Wiping your iPhone with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth will restore its original color," Apple added.

Images of iPhone 15 Pro models with clear fingerprints on the Titan frames have been circulating on social media since the devices were announced last week, but customers shouldn't worry about permanent damage. None of this information may come as a surprise, but it's now been noted by Apple.
